Donna Ackerman, DVM
Dr. Ackerman grew up in Maryland. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and Tuskegee Veterinary School. She worked at a veterinary practice in Orange County Virginia for many years before opening her own practice in Gordonsville Virginia in April of 1999. In her free time, she likes to ride her bike and her two horses, as well as doing canine obedience and tracking with one of her dobermans. Dr. Ackerman actively trains in Schutzhund and breeds doberman pinschers for agility, obedience, most types of dog sports, and for family pets.

Sue Varner, Receptionist
Sue has been GVH's receptionist since March, 2004. Originally from Baltimore, MD, she attended VCU school of the arts while working as a graphic designer in Richmond, VA. She is a cat and dog lover with 10 cats and her dog Thurston. In her spare time, she likes to draw and cook.
Michelle Gamage L.V.T.
Michelle has been a L.V.T. since 2005 and has worked in the veterinary field for the last 20 years. She has earned B.S. degree in Equine Science from Virginia Intermont College and a B.S in Veterinary Technology from Perdue University. Michelle has two daughters and a supportive husband of 20 years. They are the proud owners 1 collie, 1 sheltie, 2 dachshunds, a bloodhound, a basset hound, a Black & Tan coonhound, 3 cats, and a Blue-Fronted Amazon parrot. She loves the outdoors, hiking, camping, and participates in dog sports, as well as, she likes to read, play video games, and watch fantasy movies.
Sandra Roebuck, Vet Assistant
Sandra moved to Virginia when her husband retired from USMC. She has many years experience in Grooming and as an Obedience trainer. Sandra has been with GVH for 9 years as a Veterinary Assistant. She has 5 Boston Terriers and a black & white cat. Her hobbies include canine agility and she likes to dabble in quilting & various crafts.
Faye Frazier, Vet Assistant
Faye grew up in Staunton, but has lived in Louisa County for the past 38 years. She has been married to her husband Ray for 44 years. Together they have a daughter who is currently attending college, 5 dogs, and 1 cat. Faye has been with GVH for 12 years. She likes to bake, sew, bargain shop, and is very involved with her church.
Mikey, The Clinic Resident
Mikey came to us on October 3rd, 2003 as a kitten. He was found by a good samaritan as he was seizuring on the side of the road. He was taken in by Doctor Ackerman who treated him but was unable to adopt him out due to his condition. His hobbies are, pawing, eating, pawing, meowing, pawing, purring, and most of all he loves his food & treats!
